Red Hatters

At your service....

The three young men to the left..Eduardo, Carlos and Brandon came to us last winter as volunteers from South Florida State College's Services Learning Program. They are from the Honor's Student Program..the "cream of the scholastic crop". This program is headed by Dr. Charlotte Pressler.  The "old" man on the right is Mr. Jim Deal who has been associated with the museum for a number of years and oversees the Dining Car staff, among other duties.

They began by performing various volunteer services in the museum and as we came to know them better we felt they were destined for service in a greater capacity.
We dressed them up in some of our vintage clothing and sent them packing out to our Silver Palm Dining Car to serve as waiters. They were naturals! They loved what they were doing and the guests are very fond of them. They also greet guests and serve at our Open House functions. Of course, they can only be at the museum as long as it does not interfere with their studies at the college.
Privately, they are from Wauchula and best friends.
