Privacy Policy
What this website does and does not collect about you.
What we do not do
This website sets no cookies and runs no advertising. It loads no fonts from third-party networks. Every page carries a strict Content Security Policy that restricts what your browser may connect to, with only the specific services described below.
We do not ask visitors to create an account, and there is nothing to sign up for. The Society does not buy, sell or share visitor data with anyone.
External services
Privacy-preserving analytics are collected using a self-hosted Umami instance (analytics.mjmiller.cloud) operated for the Society. It sets no cookies, does not track visitors across sites, and records only aggregate page-view counts and referrer metrics so the Society knows which exhibits and archive pages are being read.
Donation, membership and ticket forms are provided by Zeffy, a payment platform for non-profits. A Zeffy form appears inside a frame on the page. Once you interact with it, Zeffy’s own privacy policy applies to what you enter, including your name, email address and payment details. The Society sees what you choose to tell it on the form. It never sees or stores your card number.
Videos are hosted on YouTube. A video is shown as a still picture served from this site, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play. When you do, the player loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, and Google’s privacy policy applies from that point.
Hosting
The site is served by Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps. Like any web host, Microsoft keeps standard service logs of requests to the site, governed by Microsoft’s privacy statement. The Society does not add to those logs and does not use them to identify visitors.
Ask A.P.
The archive assistant sends the text of your question to an AI service in order to answer it, and keeps your search history in your own browser only. It has its own page: Ask A.P. Usage Policy.
Volunteers and editors
Society volunteers who edit the website sign in to the /admin/ content manager using an invite-only Clerk account (clerk.avonparkhistoricalsociety.com). That sign-in is only loaded on /admin/ pages for authorized editors. Public visitors are never asked to sign in.
Your choices
There is no visitor account to close and no profile to delete. Ask A.P.’s history lives on your device, and you can delete it there at any time. If you have written to the Society, or want to know what we hold about you, use the contact details on the About Us page.
Changes
This page will be updated if the website starts doing something it does not do today. Last revised 5 September 2026.
